La Petite Auberge de Niaux

It's taken me a long time to try to this restaurant mainly because it's closed out of season and I've kept missing it. For those of you who want to try it out, you'll have to be quick, it's closing after Sun Nov 15th for the winter. Niaux is only 5 mins drive up the Vicdessos valley from Tarascon.

Nice service, a pleasant outdoor eating area and restful/tasteful interior. We had the lunchtime €19 3 course menu which must change quite frequently as we were given the wrong one to start with. A choice of 3 starters and 3 mains. Two of us had chicken fricassee which came out in an enormous bowl to share, other choices were faux filet (perfectly cooked) and cod, tasty and well presented. Lots of seasonal accents and local ingredients.

Check when it re-opens next year on their website or call 05 61 05 79 79 .
