Channel Ferry rip off

by michael g » Mon Jan 31, 2011 7:22 pm

I recently booked a ferry and then wanted to change it. I had booked through an agent. Found the agent wanted a fee plus the ferry company wanted a fee as well. Next time I will book directly with the ferry company. :(

Yeah, ferry agents can be a rip off sometimes. It's usually better to just go straight to the ferry. I had to learn that one the hard way, too. I hope they didn't charge a ridiculous amount.

As we often used to turn up to LD Lines, when they did the Boulogne- Dover route, and book for immediate travel with no financial penalty, it was a shock to realise P&O don't do that. Recently, we turned up and they wanted to charge us £60 more than for the on-line fare. We were luckily in a position to go away, book and come back next day. You have been warned......
